Origin of the word “Barbeque” In the early 1700’s, sailors wrecked on a French island and lived on goats that had run away from the settlers. They cooked them whole on a split, calling their feast de barbe en queue, “from beard to tail.” Hochatown BBQ & Grill is located at Secluded Acres Resort inside Secluded Acres Country Store. Enjoy a meal and shop onsite for souvenirs, gifts, T-shirts, hats, convenience items, furniture and western décor. Uncle Charlie’s Old Time Photo’s is onsite where you can create a lasting memory.

We offer three options for your catering needs: you can pick up everything you need for your event, have us drop it off at your location or have us deliver and serve your guests.
Our customers love our BBQ and we have become the favorite choice of all who try us when visiting the Beavers Bend area.
BBQ choices:
Sliced or Chopped Brisket, Pulled Pork, Chicken, Smoked Sausage or Hot Links. Our famous Baby Back Ribs (stand alone option/ not part of meat choices).
SIDE choices:
Potato Salad, Baked Beans, Cole Slaw, Green Beans or Kernel Corn.
DESSERT choices:
Chocolate or Coconut Cream Pie, Chocolate Cake, Cookies or Brownies.

If you’re picking up your BBQ:
Let us know the date and time you need and if you want it hot when you pick it up or if you will be heating it up yourself at a later time.

If we’re dropping off your BBQ:
Let us know the date and time and location where you need your BBQ dropped off ($20.00 delivery fee).

If we’re delivering and serving our BBQ at your event:

We will deliver, set up the serving area and have the BBQ ready for you at the time of your event. After everyone is served we clean up the serving area and leave plenty of food for those who want a second helping.
We will appreciate any gratuity your choose to give for your servers
When you call to make a catering reservation, please be ready to provide the following information, but don’t worry if you don’t have all the answers – we’ll help you through it:
What is the date, time and location of your event?
How many people will we be serving? Your final count is due 2 business days prior to your event and will be the number we prepare BBQ for and the number on the bill.
How will you be paying for the event? We accept cash, check or any major credit card. A deposit will be required according to the number of guests attending your event. Your deposit will be applied to your bill. We request the balance be given to us upon our arrival at your event.
If you have to cancel your deposit will not be returned if cancelled less than 2 weeks before the event. If you cancel within 72 hours you will be billed for the event at 100% of the cost.

Recently, I had the responsibility to provide ribs for my rib club that meets once a month. This is no ordinary rib club. On the evening of the event we had present several Tarrant County and municipal judges, several former NBA and NFL players, the Mayors of Southlake, Keller, Trophy Club and several other cities, the General Manager of the Southlake Hilton hotel and numerous other discriminating barbecue officianados. These folks are not easily impressed and have had the opportunity to experience barbecue from all over Texas, Oklahoma and other parts of the country. To the person, they believed the Hochatown Barbeque was among the best they have ever tasted. "The meat was falling off the bone and the flavor was unsurpassed".
I also have a cabin near Tom Verace's Hochatown Barbeque near Broken Bow, Oklahoma and my family would revolt if we did not stop to get some of this barbeque at each visit. If you get the chance, stop in and say "hi" to Tom and treat yourself and your family to some of the best barbeque around. You'll be glad you did.
